Arlow

Sam & Matt’s gorgeous home in Nobleton, Ontario has a new family member! His name is Arlow, and his hoomans wanted to capture some pics with him before he grew into a big golden boy.

How did you chose his name?
“We had a hard time choosing so I looked at some lists online and Arlow stood out.”

Why did you decide to get a dog?
“I’ve always been obsessed with Golden Retrievers and wanted to get one.” Sam explained. “Once we moved into this house and had enough space I started to look online and stumbled onto his litter of puppies. From there, one thing led to another and here we are. The funny thing is we found out the breeder is the same one my Step Mom uses! We had no idea at first, it was such a coincidence!”

Arlow is a big boi and yet has the hardest time jumping onto the couch! He doesn’t know how to use his back legs properly yet lol

If Arlow was a fictional character, who would he be?
“Donkey from Shrek because he’s both helpful and an idiot” Sam laughed.

Does he have a favourite treat?
Sam laughed again, “Beef twists… aka bull penises.”

What’s the hardest part about raising a puppy?
Matt replied, “Training in general. It’s not difficult, but there’s so much repitition needed, you really have to be on it.”
Sam agreed, “Yeah, we’re trying to train him to stop humping me, which he only does to me for some reason. He also nips our hands a lot since he’s teething and barks loudly in his crate. We’re working on it and he’ll get better with time.”

What’s the most rewarding part about raising Arlow?
“When I’m in a bad mood he’ll come cuddle me and I love that about him” Sam said.
Matt thought about it for a moment and then answered, “The potentials. We can raise him the way we want and he has so much potential.”

What is one of his quirks/funny habits?
“He LOVES socks. He has this weird routine in the morning where he grabs some socks, makes a weird noise and waits for you to sit on the floor, then he’ll charge at you!”
