7 Popular Reasons People Book A Session:
To honour a senior pet as they age
To capture a puppy before they grow up
To update family photos or have a fun date night
To celebrate their pets birthday
To use on their social media/websites
To capture a proposal or celebrate an engagement
To announce a pregnancy, have a maternity shoot or gender reveal
Whatever your reason, my biggest advice is to capture these moments before they’re gone. It breaks my heart when people say they wish they got photos before it was too late, so I’m always urging people to seize the day. Live in the moment, love for a lifetime ❤️
FAQ
Is winter a good time to shoot?
Yes! My favourite parts about winter are: no bugs, parks aren’t busy, no one gets sweaty, and tall grass/pine trees/snow are all super cute backdrops. Every season has good & bad weather days, and we’ll reschedule if it’s too cold during winter (or too rainy in spring/fall, or too hot in summer).
How many pics will I get?
All the best images are included, digitally. The amount depends on the goals of our shoot, environmental factors, and your animals temperament. During 30min Outdoor Sessions, the least I've given back was around 25 and the most was around 100.
How far will you travel?
Just My Dog Session: Burlington Locations Only
Outdoor Shoots: 30min from Burlington
In-Home Sessions: 1 hour from Burlington
How long does it take to get my images?
Up to 2 weeks.
Will you edit out the leash?
Yes, if the picture is just of your dog. If it’s with people then I don’t (in most cases). I don’t edit out harnesses.
Will you photograph animals that aren't dogs or cats?
Yes! So far I've worked with a horse, guinea pigs, and bunnies. I'm happy to work with any animal: birds, snakes, rats, goats; you name it, I'm down!
My pet is shy around new people, can we still book a session?
In most cases, yes. I know how to work with shy pets and many of my clients have been pleasantly surprised by how much their pet warmed up to me. However, in some cases, like a cat that never comes out for new people, it might not be possible. I personally have a cat that hides from everyone, and I know she wouldn’t cooperate with a photographer. If your pet is shy at first, but will warm up to new people (or at least come out of hiding), then I’m confident we’ll get be able to get photos of them.
Can I book an outdoor session that's longer than 30min?
Yes. In my experience, 30min is enough time to get lots of outdoor shots, but if you'd like more time, or want to use a couple locations, I'm happy to accommodate.
If I book a session for my pets End-Of-Life, and my pet crosses the rainbow bridge before our shoot, will you return my deposit?
Yes, absolutely. Typically the deposit is non-refundable, but it wouldn’t feel right to keep it in that case 💔
