Samantha & Austin

Monique and Michael wanted to capture images of their little family because their boy Austin is getting older. We took some time both inside and around their neighborhood to capture some cute memories.

How did you pick their names?
“We got our dogs separately.” Monique answered, “I had bought my first home and wanted a protector so I got Samantha. I picked her name with my Mom. We got the idea from the movie I Am Legend.”
And then Michael explained, “Austin was inherited from my sister. We named him Austin because he’s an Australian Sheppard.”

Do they have any funny quirks or habits?
“Sam won’t walk in puddles. She strategically steps around them. She’s a diva that way. She even takes the same route in the backyard every time she goes out. She also doesn’t like noises but loves dark spaces. And Austin will dumpster dive, roll around in the mud, and doesn’t care at all about loud noises like thunder.”

What’s a funny/favourite memory you have with them?
“While we were driving from Arizona to Canada, Austin needed to have his head out the window and drool kept hitting Monique! And Sam just laid down the entire time, unless we hit a bump, then she’s look up at us like ‘excuse you’”
