Mia

Serena wanted a session with her Dad, Aldo, and their 13 year old dog, Mia.

Mia’s been having health issues, so it was important to capture these memories.

When we met for their shoot, I learned that Mia was staying with Serena while Aldo was in Italy, but he came home early due to Mia’s health. It started to rapidly decline as soon as he left, and she had a seizure. So, Aldo flew home to be with Mia in her last days. To their surprise, though, Mia started doing better as soon as she was reunited with Aldo! He really is *her person*, and her health improving shows how deep their bond is.

They still don’t know how much time she has left, but she’s doing much better and had energy at our shoot!

This story of Aldo and Mia makes me think: Isn’t it incredible how much love exists between dogs and humans? And how love can heal?
